Plain English Summary

We collect only what we need to run FlipProfit. This includes your email, the items you scan, and your eBay data (if you connect it). We don't sell your data. We use Supabase for database storage and Stripe for payments. You can request deletion of your data anytime.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up for FlipProfit, we collect:

  • Email address (required for account creation and login)
  • Password (encrypted and stored securely via Supabase Auth)
  • Profile information (optional: name, profile photo)

Usage Data

When you use FlipProfit, we collect:

  • Items you scan (barcodes, product names, scan timestamps)
  • Items you save to your inventory
  • Listings you create
  • Profit tracking data (costs, sale prices, fees)

Connected Services

If you connect third-party services:

  • eBay: We access your eBay sales data, listings, and order information via eBay's API (with your permission)
  • Stripe: We store your Stripe customer ID for billing (Stripe handles your payment card data directly—we never see it)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide the FlipProfit service (scout feature, listing tools, profit tracking)
  • Sync your eBay sales data automatically
  • Process payments via Stripe
  • Send important account emails (password resets, billing notifications)
  • Improve our product (we analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and add features)

We do not:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Show you ads based on your data
  • Share your data with anyone except our service providers (Supabase, Stripe, eBay API)

3. Third-Party Services

FlipProfit uses these third-party services:

Supabase (Database & Authentication)

Stores your account data, scans, inventory, and profit tracking. Hosted in the United States. Supabase Privacy Policy

Stripe (Payment Processing)

eBay API

Retrieves your eBay sales data, listings, and product information (only if you connect your eBay account). eBay Privacy Policy

4. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete:

  • Your profile information
  • Your scans and inventory data
  • Your profit tracking records

We may retain some data for legal or accounting purposes (e.g., transaction records for tax compliance).

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data: Request a copy of all data we have about you
  • Correct your data: Update incorrect information in your account settings
  • Delete your data: Request full account deletion (we'll delete everything within 30 days)
  • Export your data: Download your scans and profit data as CSV

6. Security

We take security seriously:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/SSL)
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard encryption (bcrypt via Supabase)
  • Database access is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • We use Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) to isolate user data

No system is 100% secure. If we experience a data breach, we'll notify affected users within 72 hours.

7. Cookies and Tracking

FlipProfit uses minimal cookies:

  • Authentication cookies: Keep you logged in (required for the service to work)
  • Analytics: We may use privacy-focused analytics (like Plausible or Simple Analytics) to understand how users interact with FlipProfit—no personal data is tracked

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

8. Children's Privacy

FlipProfit is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at team@flipprofit.online and we'll delete it.

9. International Users

FlipProfit is based in the United States. Your data is stored on servers in the US (via Supabase). By using FlipProfit, you consent to this data transfer.

If you're in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR. Contact us at team@flipprofit.online to exercise them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as FlipProfit evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notification.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last changed.
